Where to Donate

Solving the Climate Crisis requires coordinated action in several areas, and everyone has a role to play. We have reviewed and researched a large number of organisations and have chosen charities where we believe your donations will be most cost-effective at reducing CO2e* emissions. They work in the following areas:

Protecting existing rainforests and large-scale planting of trees.
We have chosen this area because protecting and building natural carbon sinks is straightforward and proven to be very effective at absorbing CO2e.

Clean Energy

Providing renewable energy and efficiency, mainly to developing countries.
We have chosen this area because accelerating clean energy usage is high impact and also has significant health and social benefits.

Promoting environmental policies and ensuring existing laws are obeyed.

We have chosen this area because environmental laws and policies are essential to enable and promote our low carbon future.

*CO2e or CO2 equivalent – CO2e, or carbon dioxide equivalent, is a standard unit for measuring carbon footprints. The idea is to express the impact of each different greenhouse gas in terms of the amount of CO2 that would create the same amount of warming. That way, a carbon footprint consisting of lots of different greenhouse gases can be expressed as a single number.

The Global Returns Project is run by the Climate Crisis Foundation. The Climate Crisis Foundation is a charity registered in England and Wales, no. 1186683, company no. 11882899.
